I would like to learn Ruby the really hard way. I feel like all the tutorials/books that I found are aim to people that are beginners in programming. I am looking for something that may not exist.I like to learn programming languages by understanding what is the core idea of the language. This way, I can understand the reasons of the design choices that were taken when the language was designed. So, I would like to find a book/tutorial/whatever that explains the language in a more expert/advance way. Learning what's the idea when they decided that Ruby would be dynamic, interpreted, etc.Due to my lack of expressiveness in English, let me put some examples:Haskell: The core ideas are equational reasoning and laziness.Scala: Blending functional programming and OO in the JVM.Rust: Secure memory management in a modern language. When I understand what are the core ideas of a language, for me it is easier to understand, for example, why some syntax is idiomatic.Does anything like this exist in Ruby?.
